The Board of County Commissioners comprises three members, each elected county-wide. The Board serves as the executive body of the county. Commissioners are responsible for county buildings, lands, and property. In addition, the Board audits and authorizes claims against the county, receives bids and authorizes contracts, supervises many county departments, oversees construction and maintenance of roads and bridges, and exercises many of the legislative powers and duties of the county. Commissioners serve four-year terms. Adapted from https://co.johnson.in.us/commissioners/.
