My top two priorities are 1) continue to collaborate with a wide range of folks on ways to bring necessary services to Seniors and people with disabilities to Vilas County District 2, The services that are most needed are, a nutrition site, public transportation, and primary health care. 2) I will continue to do what I can to help promote environmental responsibility in every decision made at the county level, this is especially important when it comes to protecting our lakes, rivers, and wetlands.

The county board is responsible for providing the best possible support for health and human services. In order for the county to provide the best possible support for people in need requires significant financial resources and some counties have joined with neighboring counties in order to adequately fund these services.

Vilas County has a tourism-based economy, and the tourism is directly tied to the health of the lakes. In my opinion, it is important for Vilas County to invest to the greatest extent possible in the Land & Water Conservation Department. Protecting and maintaining the forested land within Vilas County is also a critical environmental concern, I will work towards and support maintaining contiguous forest lands which will help support the health of the forest as well as maintaining wildlife habitat. Protecting our wetlands is my third ranked environmental issue but it is easily as important as the previous two issues. If we don't take steps to protect and preserve our local environment the results will have a negative effect on the well-being of the citizens of Vilas County.

Without question in Vilas County the county highway system is the single most important aspect of local infrastructure. When federal funding is available it should be pursued and allocated to help improve county roads.

It is important for supervisors to stay in tune with their constituents and electronic communication is one method of maintaining that connection. Facebook, Zoom or other social media platforms are all good methods for maintaining a level of communication so that supervisors stay in tune with what is important to their constituents.
