Community Involvement
Volunteer at the SDA thrift shop in Rhinelander, volunteer in my church, i work at Pine Point Realty, attend local fundraisers, county board supervisor district 6.
Please describe two or three of your priorities, if elected, and how you will address those issues.
Three of the most important issues to me are: protecting our individual freedom and rights, protecting our lakes and rivers, and care for our elderly population.
In addressing each of these issues, I believe it's important to listen and respect opinions of others that is different from my own. Positive results can only come from respectful dialogue.
How should the county board address their responsibilities with regard to health and human services?
Health and human services is so vital to our community.
The County board has the responsibility to ensure that these services provided by this department are thorough, beneficial and provided with dignity and care.
Just last year we took steps to improve the operation and the services. This is an ongoing process to make these services better with less taxpayer dollars.
Please rank the three most important environmental issues the county is facing? Please explain why.
The environmental issues effecting Oneida County are contaminants in the residential wells, contaminants in our lakes and rivers, and air quality.
We (the county) are addressing these issues at this time. It will take time, testing, studies and resources. But the issues have been identified and well documented.
What do you consider the most important aspects of local infrastructure and how should federal funding be allocated?
Schools, Roads, Communications (Broadband), Water supply, Waste management, Law enforcement, and Medical access are important aspects of our local infrastructure. These are ALL important to the residents of Oneida County.
I believe the federal funding should be allocated to give benefit to the most number of residents young and old.
How can the county board and individual supervisors take advantage of new avenues of communication with the community?
I believe one way of being able to communicate with our constituents can be set up through social media. We have an older population that this wouldn't work with, but we could have classes at the ADRC to teach the people who want to learn how to get on particular social media sites.
We could set up town hall meetings for any question and answer sessions.
My phone number is published on our county board website for anybody that has questions/concerns on any given issue.
