Please describe two or three of your priorities, if elected, and how you will address those issues.

Broadband extension to provide educational opportunities for all residents of the county. I would prioritize funding for this essential service. Road maintenance is an ongoing concern and I would like to hear from district residents who need their roads looked at.

How should the county board address their responsibilities with regard to health and human services?

We need to continue funding for elderly and veterans programs throughout the county. Local groups do a good job addressing some of these needs but require our continued support.

Please rank the three most important environmental issues the county is facing? Please explain why.

Climate change is obviously affecting our environment and therefore our tourist industry. It will take a long time to wean off of fossil fuels but we need to provide clean air and water for future generations. Reports of plastic particles in our air and water are becoming more prominent recently and more attention needs to be addressed to this problem. I would like to champion a push to create EV charging stations in our county to prepare for the coming electric vehicle usage.

What do you consider the most important aspects of local infrastructure and how should federal funding be allocated?

I consider inspecting our bridges should be ongoing and federal funds should be used to fund these inspections and needed repairs.

How can the county board and individual supervisors take advantage of new avenues of communication with the community?

Unfortunately, many social media sites are being used to spread untruths and foster hatred and division in our society so I tend to avoid that form of communication. Good old one on one interaction is still the best way to avoid misinformation and misunderstanding and I encourage anyone to contact me to discuss issues.
