Why do you want to be an Ozaukee County Board Supervisor, and what qualifications and experience make you the best candidate?

I want to serve my community.

In 2022 I lost the election for the Ozaukee County Board Supervisor- District 16 seat by 8 votes (597-589).

Instead of quitting, I continued to attend nearly all meetings, was appointed to a city of Cedarburg committee, and then elected to the Cedarburg School District Board of Education. I have worked in Thiensville, Grafton, and Cedarburg and volunteered throughout the county with several organizations that benefit residents.

(My education and background can be viewed in more detail at: https://www.conniekincaide.com/about ) .

Ozaukee County is an amazing place to live and work, and I want to see those opportunities continue to be available.

I believe in the importance of showing up, doing the best you can with what you have, and finding ways to positively impact the place you call home.

I would be proud to serve on the county board, in addition to serving in my appointed and elected positions.

What are the most important issues facing Ozaukee County and how will you address them?

The following are issues that I believe are important for the county to navigate:

1) EMS and how/if the county responds with further aid. * 2) Mental Health Services and the increase in calls received by the Sheriff's Department. 3) Strategic Planning and an overarching vision for the direction of services provided to residents.

Each of these areas requires an individual who is capable of asking questions, advocating for responsible allocation of resources that benefit the community, and looking to the past as well as sharing a vision for the future of the county.

My pragmatic nature knows that each of these items comes down to funding and prioritizing of needs/wants. I'm dedicated to working with supervisors, and actively listening to residents when it comes to making decisions that move our county forward.

*Referendums will appear on the April 2 ballot for most Ozaukee County municipalities.

How will you keep your constituents informed of the issues and actions of the County Board?

Since 2021, I have shared information related to Ozaukee County for residents on the Facebook page: facebook.com/ConnieforCounty.

As an elected representative to the school board, I share items of importance via social media, hold office hours and am consistently available by phone or email.

As a supervisor, I would continue to utilize social media, and in-person options to listen to constituents. As residents share ways that they would like to stay informed, I am open to learning how to use the platforms needed to provide that service.

One of the benefits of serving in a local office is being able to build relationships with neighbors of different ages, backgrounds, and beliefs.

Having a representative who actively engages with the community and can show their dedication to finding common ground is vital to voters.

I believe that I am that person, and am dedicated to earning your vote on or before 4/2/2024.

Reminder: Early voting begins March 19th, and every vote counts!
