DUTIES: Baltimore’s law-making body is the 15-member City Council. The 15th member, the city council president, is elected city-wide. The citizens of Baltimore should support my campaign for several compelling reasons. My track record speaks volumes about my commitment to building healthy communities as a seasoned Public Health practitioner for the past decade on the Baltimore City Council. With visionary leadership, I've elevated the District and impacted local, state, and federal levels, demonstrating the ability to effect change across platforms- securing more than $600,000 across 25 organizations in District 10.
Crime: What specific plans would you propose to reduce homicides, violent crime, theft and vandalism in Baltimore?
To address Baltimore's crime, a multifaceted approach is crucial. Prioritize enforcement on violent offenses, targeting repeat offenders. Implement early intervention programs for individuals with behavioral health issues, collaborating closely with agencies like Baltimore City Public Schools. Establish a clean-up corps, engaging vandals to restore the communities they damage. This combination of enforcement, prevention, and community involvement can mitigate true community revitalization.
