What qualifies you for this position?

I am a lifelong Holmen resident, HHS alumni, and active member of the community. I have the cultural and historical knowledge of Holmen's growth and want only the best for Holmen's future. I understand Holmen is special, and as a father of two, I want to ensure my children have the same experience I had growing up in this amazing community. As a younger individual, I feel that I can better represent the concerns and interests of the younger families moving into this growing community. As a Senior Software Engineer, I have the technical and professional experience to help guide the village to make the best possible decisions regarding advances and investments in technology across all departments. Lastly, as an incumbent trustee, I have 2+ years of experience with how the board operates and have served on the following committees: Shared Ride, Parks & Rec, Public Works, and the Fire Board.

What are your top three priorities that you see for your village?

My top three priorities for the village are the following: keeping the village fiscally responsible through proper allocation of funds to maintain infrastructure and invest in future development, public safety by supporting the local police department and firefighters by providing them with the tools they need to do their jobs the best they possible can, and lastly ensure that taxpayer dollars are properly being used to address the issues facing the community.

How will you work to meet those top three priorities?

I will work to meet those priorities by attending every committee and board meeting. I will be outspoken, questioning village staff on decisions that require further clarification to ensure I am properly informed when representing the community. Additionally, I will maintain an open line of communication through prompt responses to calls and emails, and I will consistently advocate for the community by bringing their concerns before the board.

What qualifies you for this position?

My family moved to Holmen in 1998 and I have called it home for nearly 26 years. Aside from a couple of years when I was fresh out of college, my permanent address has been in Holmen since then. I grew up here, got married here and became a father here. My daughter is going to grow up in the village where both sets of her grandparents still live. I don’t know what, if anything, qualifies me for the position of Village Board, but I know Holmen. This is a place that I care deeply about and believe will continue to be a great place to live in the coming years.

What are your top three priorities that you see for your village?

1. Further Holmen’s reputation as a great place to grow a family

2. Also, as Holmen continues to grow it will be important to allocate resources to maintain and upgrade our services.

3. Explore options for entertainment that suit a growing community

How will you work to meet those top three priorities?

1. I will continue to explore the addition of playgrounds, community spaces, dog parks and other family friendly opportunities that make the village desirable for a thriving community.

2. Holmen has always been a place that has felt safe and enjoyed effective, efficient services. The village is seeing enormous growth and for our standard of quality to carry on we will need to invest resources into the departments that keep our community running.

3. It’s truly an exciting time in Holmen with the influx of new people. The population has grown rapidly but the available options of entertainment has lagged behind. Over the next few years, I expect a corresponding boom to correct for that imbalance. It would be an honor to help shepherd the village through process of bringing in new eateries, shops and other businesses that will make for an exciting variety of things to do in town.

What qualifies you for this position?

I came to Holmen four years ago during the pandemic and since that time I have grown quite fond of this sleepy little bedroom community. I feel it is important to contribute to the community in which one lives, which made the timing feel right to get involved for my running for trustee.

Professionally, it is my work as a manufacturing engineer that qualifies me for the responsibilities of the Village Trustee. Village Trustees have a budget oversight function as their core duty. My experience working with budgets, and project management are extensive, so I feel that as a member of the board of trustees my contributions will be thoughtful and effective. I also have a lot of experience building alliances among people with different interests, which I am positive will play an important role in my executing the duties of trustee. I will be a responsible and productive board member if elected.

What are your top three priorities that you see for your village?

The Village of Holmen "top" priorities, as I see them, are those that touch the people directly.

1. Maintaining the safety, and health, of the people of the community are first. Emergency response (EMT's), fire, police, and healthcare workers, should have the funding and resources necessary to safely and reliably perform their jobs. These are the people that serve us when we are in pain. They need to count on our support so that we can count on them when we need them most.

2. Our children's education is the next priority, which means I actively support teachers and schools. The importance of giving our children an excellent education, in a safe environment, cannot be overstated.

3. Community infrastructure is a top priority. Keeping the lights on, pure water flowing, the streets clear, and the parks maintained, and all the other work that goes on around us that makes our lives good. In addition, the Holmen community needs to maintain access to reliable world class internet.

How will you work to meet those top three priorities?

In the top three priorities I have listed there are people making those priorities reality. In order to deliver to the needs of the community I need to talk to the people making things happen so that I may make relevant decisions.

As I previously indicated I am a numbers guy. I build spreadsheets, work in technology, and have familiarity with lots of types of machines. The best way to support EMT's and fire department personnel is to talk to them to learn from them directly what they need to be effective. The same goes for nurses and healthcare workers.

As I stated above, I strongly advocate for teachers and the WEAC, as well as working with the Holmen school board. One does not know the challenges educators face without an open dialog.

For infrastructure I welcome the opportunity to engage with stakeholders to understand their various needs. I also feel Holmen would do well to establish an economic development commission, as the industrial park nearby is excellent for logistics.
