State Central Committees are the controlling committees of each major political party. They manage the affairs of the statewide party, are responsible for its day to day operations; direct general policy; direct and conduct campaign activities; and assist the party in its fundraising efforts. A state central committee consists of two members, one a man and one a woman, from each state senate district. Currently, committee members of the Republican political party serve two-year terms, and members of the Democratic party serve four-year terms.
