Background: What training, experience, and characteristics qualify you for this position?

A decade of experience in workforce development, local government, and community advocacy. My tenure as a Greenville City Council Member allowed me to address critical issues in our community.

Immigration: What is the best use of state funds and resources to address immigration in our border communities?

Ensure our border communities have the resources they need for safety, economic stability, and humanitarian support. We should invest in infrastructure, healthcare, and education, while also partnering with local leaders to address the root causes of immigration. By focusing on compassionate, practical solutions, we can protect our communities and uphold our values.

Public Education: What are your top priorities for public education?

My top priorities for public education are ensuring equitable funding, supporting our teachers with better pay and resources, and expanding access to early childhood education. I’m committed to strengthening special education programs and integrating technology in classrooms to prepare our students for the future. Our children deserve a world-class education, no matter where they live in Texas.

Abortion: What changes would you support to Texas abortion laws?

I support restoring a woman's right to make personal healthcare decisions without government interference. Texas's current abortion laws are too extreme and endanger women’s health. I would advocate for policies that protect access to safe, legal abortion and comprehensive reproductive healthcare, ensuring every woman has the freedom to make the best choices for herself and her family.

Climate Change: What measures, if any, need to be taken at the state level to address the impacts of climate change?

We need to prioritize renewable energy investments, protect our natural resources, and support policies that reduce carbon emissions. By strengthening current legislation on clean energy and environmental protections, we can create jobs, protect our communities, and build a sustainable future for Texas.

Elections: What measures can be taken to protect free and fair access to voting in Texas?

To protect free and fair access to voting in Texas, we need to expand early voting, ensure polling places are accessible, and protect mail-in voting. It’s crucial to fight against voter suppression laws and make sure every Texan, regardless of background or location, has an equal opportunity to cast their vote and make their voice heard.

Other Issues: What other issues do you believe will be most pressing in the next session of the Texas legislature, and what are your positions on these issues?

In the next session, we’ll face pressing issues like healthcare access, affordable housing, and public safety. I’m committed to expanding Medicaid, supporting policies that make housing more affordable, and ensuring our communities are safe through smart investments in education, mental health, and public services. We need to tackle these challenges head-on with compassion and common sense.
