Relevant Experience I bring a rich and diverse set of experiences to the city council role. My background includes leadership roles in corporate Operations Management and Human Resources, managing and expanding a start-up, and nationwide recruitment. As a small business owner and a yoga instructor, I've honed my skills in creative problem-solving and community engagement. My active involvement in local initiatives, such as coaching soccer and serving on a soccer park project committee, underscores my commitment to the community. I'm prepared to lead Sheboygan Falls towards a prosperous future with thoughtful and strategic decision-making.

Why are you running for office?

I am running for this city council because I firmly believe in the saying, "be the change you want to see in the world." Instead of merely expressing dissatisfaction or accepting the existing circumstances, I believe in proactively seizing opportunities to effect positive change. My deep understanding of and connection to the community's needs and desires drive me to step into this role. I am confident that I can contribute meaningfully towards the transformation our community seeks.

Cite major goals you want to accomplish if elected and how you plan to achieve those goals.

Enhancing our city's infrastructure, particularly road improvements, is a clear priority, especially given the increased tax base assumed from new single-family housing developments. These improvements should be feasible and will significantly benefit our growing community.

Another top priority on my agenda is the enhancement of park spaces for our city and its residents. Currently, our city's park allocation is notably below the national average. However, we are on the cusp of expansion with the development of new single-family housing units.

Maintaining the vibrancy of our city necessitates the provision of recreational spaces for our residents. It's crucial that they can appreciate and experience the beauty of their surroundings without feeling compelled to travel beyond the city limits for their recreational pursuits. When residents seek recreational outlets outside the city, they are likely to spend their money there as well, which deprives our local economy of potential revenue.

Therefore, it is of utmost importance that our town offers attractive recreational options that encourage residents to invest their time and money within the city. Not only does this contribute to a more vibrant city life, but it also enhances property values and bolsters city morale.

How will you assist in bringing affordable housing development to the community?

The city has been actively working on the housing issue, and it's great to see plans for affordable single-family homes taking shape. Once I have the opportunity to join the city council, I'm eager to delve into these initiatives in more detail and explore how I can contribute further to these efforts.

Discuss your experience and how it qualifies you for the position you seek.

My deep-rooted commitment to our community and active involvement make me an excellent fit for this role. I place the community's needs above any personal agenda, which comes naturally to me. Over the past four years, I have demonstrated this commitment by coaching community soccer and volunteering at local organizations.

My family and I are also active participants in city events and volunteer opportunities. My passion for making a positive impact is driven by my love for Sheboygan Falls, the place where I grew up. Although I spent 19 years away, more than half of my life has been dedicated to this community.

To unlock the full potential of Sheboygan Falls, we need thoughtful and strategic leadership. I am ready and excited to channel my energy and time towards this vision.

How will you assist with recruiting and maintaining talent in the community?

My extensive experience in these areas will be a valuable asset. I find great excitement in these aspects, having successfully navigated through unionization attempts during my tenure in human resources.

I firmly believe that if individuals are content, they are less likely to seek opportunities elsewhere. Being a naturally joyful person, I have a solid understanding of what makes people feel satisfied and fulfilled in their communities. This understanding has been significantly enriched through interactions with community members during door-to-door conversations.

Perhaps the most vital contribution I can make in terms of recruitment and retention is my propensity to listen. By genuinely listening, the answers often reveal themselves without much effort. This aligns perfectly with the role of a city council member, which is to listen and represent every voice in the community, thereby ensuring that everyone is heard.
