I believe one need is for an increase in leadership transparency. We need to hold city officials accountable to spend our tax dollars to improve streets, parks and infrastructure, and not on wasteful legal defense. I also believe that we ought to better manage and maintain our public facilities along our beautiful lakefront which will help encourage local business growth there and throughout the city. Ultimately, I'd love to see Sheboygan become an even better place to raise a family. We can do this by ensuring that police and fire services are always fully funded, incentivizing affordable family-friendly housing, and strengthening nonprofit organizations that support children and parents.
However, my first and foremost obligation as an alderman is to represent the people. I will do that by listening to the concerns of my community, specifically those in my district. I will prioritize the consensus of my constituency above my personal opinions. That should be the mandate every elected official should follow. And that is a promise I will make-- to thoughtfully listen to and be the voice of the people I represent on our city's common council.
