Relevant Experience Interaction with the Public in many aspects of life

What do you see as the top issue facing county businesses in recruiting and retaining staff, and how do you believe it should be rectified?

The top has been adequate housing. Along with housing public transportation is also an underlying concern. The County works with partners in the Community to affect these types of issues. Examples are, but not limited to, Sheboygan Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC)

Should county government take an active role in sustaining and growing tourism, and, if so, what initiatives can the County take?

The County does and has taken many roles pertaining to tourism. The least of which is the County is now the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) at Sheboygan County International Airport. The airport serves as the first face many visitors from all around the World see!

Since coming to Sheboygan, I have been involved for 40 + years in our Community. I came to Sheboygan as a direct to home sales person, and worked briefly at a larger manufacturer. I drove a City of Sheboygan Bus for 43 + years. I have represented working class as a Past President of the Sheboygan County Labor Council. I represented workers as a Steward - Executive Board member to the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 998. I have taken an active role in our Community as part of the Franklin Park Neighborhood Association, and a member of St, Peter Claver Catholic Church. I interacted with many County Board Supervisors in some of the above mentioned situations. I was elected to the Board in 2008,filling a seat vacated by retiring 40+ year Supervisor James Gilligan. I have served on the Property Committee (2008-2014), Planning, Resources, Ag, and Extension Committee(2014-2016). I currently serve on the Human Resources Committee(2012-Present) currently as Chairperson. I represent the County on the Bay Lake Regional Planning Commission(BLRPC). I currently serve on the Executive Committee(2014- Present)! The Executive Committee is an elected position , entrusted to me by my colleagues on Sheboygan County Board!

Why are you running for office?

I am asking to be re-elected to continue to serve my Constituents and provide a positive outlook for continued success of Sheboygan County, its residents and employers.

Cite major goals you want to accomplish if elected and how you plan to achieve those goals.

I plan to continue to work with my colleagues to provide an atmosphere of positive advancement of our Community. Working with my colleagues and our Administration to continue a strong fiscal record. In the last 10 years our average annual property tax increase has been 1.44%, while continuing to provide the vital services our Community needs and deserves. To attain these goals many different approaches may need to be taken. Some of which may not even exist today.
