Relevant Experience Starting with the Peace Corps I have worked with groups of people from different backgrounds, beliefs, cultures and life experiences. As a School Social Wokrer my role offered me opportunities to counsel, function as a team member and coordinate efforts with students, families, school staff and community agencies on specific concerns. As a volunteer I spent time at agencies in Sheboygan assisting them with needed tasks. At my current job as a Therapist I counsel individuals and help them overcome life difficulties and move forward. Lastly, as a County Board Supervisor #12 I have a vote and a voice to help oversee functionings and services.

What do you see as the top issue facing county businesses in recruiting and retaining staff, and how do you believe it should be rectified?

I spoke with small business owners who stated inflation has made running a business extremely difficult. The cost of goods and rising wages are taking a toll. They said it has been a challenge competing with the larger companies in being able to offer a competitive wage. Another issue mentioned was the struggle in finding people with a good work ethic. The specific concerns were lack of respect for others, poor morals, poor money management skills and lack of appreciation for their job.

What I can do to assist with the issue is to support less taxes, spending and other costs so citizens can keep more of their hard earned money in their pockets. In addition, I would support less regulations and unnecessary controls over businesses along with citizens. In regard to teaching good morals, work ethic and money management skills this I believe this is the job of many; home, school, church, community and government organizations.

Should county government take an active role in sustaining and growing tourism, and, if so, what initiatives can the County take?

Sheboygan County has always been a great place to live and to visit. The County Planning and Conservation Department does an outstanding job in maintaining and promoting many of our local recreation facilities and opportunities. We have a number of county lakes, waterways, parks, bike and walking trails which are enjoyable for residents and tourists. I believe we should continue with these initiatives. Having the County take a major role in tourism may not be the best use of tax payer dollars. Visit Sheboygan County and Visit Sheboygan currently do an excellent job in this area. Duplicating services may not be prudent at this point.

Discuss your experience and how it qualifies you for the position you seek.

I come to the table with many work and life experiences that make me a unique candidate. Ensuring I am clear and well informed on my vote is paramount to keeping the tax payer at the forefront. I am approachable and responsive to voters concerns via email, phone, and personal contact at people homes. I have appeared at hundreds of doors eager to learn about the concerns of my constituents throughout district 12. I am well aware of what is going on in my area. I have gone the extra mile to investigate citizen concerns, pushed for election integrity, voted against excessive spending and keep current on local political issues.

Why are you running for office?

I wish to continue to be a voice for the people of district 12. I want to remain to make my vote and voice known for limited government, limited taxes and limited costs for the citizens. Transparency is imperative as I want to continue to bring citizens back into the process and keep them updated on crucial issues. Ensuring our Constitutional Rights are intact and maintaining basic government services is also vital.

Cite major goals you want to accomplish if elected and how you plan to achieve those goals.

During the last two years of my County Board tenure I have noticed many jobs need to be filled. The two areas that concern me the most are Rocky Knoll and Law Enforcement. At Rocky Knoll we care for our elderly and fragile. We need to have enough qualified people to work in that setting so our friends are properly cared for. Having adequate law and order is crucial as well. Sheboygan historically has been a safe place to live. It needs to stay that way. We want to avoid becoming like some of these out of control cities across the nation. Since the staff working at those locations on a daily basis have the best insight and experience, I would work cooperatively with them along with others who may be able to offer ideas and assistance. Many creative minds are out there; I believe we can find an adequate solution.

What do you see as the top issue facing county businesses in recruiting and retaining staff, and how do you believe it should be rectified?

The issues county businesses experience in recruiting and retaining staff are the product of many subsequent issues, making this question difficult to answer. We face this issue all across the county. Our number one asset are people. Employees. And I believe we must put our focus on supporting them with whatever funding available.

I would approach this by voting in favor of the needs of the people and employees of District 12 and Sheboygan County, which currently does not exist. A return to pertinent county business is my ambition, and I wish to be recognized as a leader of responsive and cost-effective local government. My history and work ethic reflect this goal. My priority is serving the property owners of District 12 and the mission statement of Sheboygan County, "to provide courteous, responsive, efficient and effective services to those we serve."

I appreciate the endorsements and support of the awakened community that I am experiencing. This is about [all] of us.

Should county government take an active role in sustaining and growing tourism, and, if so, what initiatives can the County take?

Yes, county government should take an active role in sustaining and growing tourism. This county historically and presently takes an active role in doing this successfully. I have personally been involved with leadership committees for larger events that drew in many tourists to Sheboygan County and I own a small hospitality business that thrives off of and promotes tourism to our community. Through this business, I've discovered that what the County provides is beneficial to the small business owners of Sheboygan County.

I am in the mindset of maintaining and improving this, and continuing to support growing tourism and small business owners in Sheboygan County.

Discuss your experience and how it qualifies you for the position you seek.

I've spent my whole life involved in my community and I believe that your work should speak for itself. My work has exceeded my own expectations. I've traveled enough of the world to realize how grateful I am for our community and the lifestyles and opportunities we have in Sheboygan County.

I want my grandson to experience the opportunities that this community has offered me my entire life. This is one way that I am able to repay that debt.

Why are you running for office?

All the towns have remarkable people working for their communities that mostly go unnoticed. I carry their endorsements and support. I strive for the return of sensible representation to all property owners and business owners, equally. I hope to restore a realistic working relationship with the town boards and supervisors. I urge you to contact your local supervisors, and research your vote.

My ability to bring people together to realize the needs of our community and achieve a common goal is my ambition. I hope to restore a knowledgeable and working relationship with the towns as their county representative. That currently does not exist. Your support is a solid vote for our employees, law enforcement and transportation needs. I possess a knowledge of local ordinances that will benefit our community.

Cite major goals you want to accomplish if elected and how you plan to achieve those goals.

Most important to me is recognizing the entire community of property owners with a nonpartisan mindset. A larger awareness of our rural community needs and a vote in favor for them that currently does not exist in District 12. Sticking to the business of the county in a collaborative effort that has proven results that exceed expectations. Represent and produce a balanced budget conducive to the required services of the people on behalf of the property owner and required by the state. Promote a stable and long-term financial stability to include a reduction of debt.

How would I do this? I would vote in favor of our needs. A return to pertinent county business is my ambition. I am a fiscally conservative man, independent. My only affiliation is to the property owners of District 12 and the mission statement of Sheboygan County. I wish to be recognized as a leader of responsive cost-effective local government. My history reflects a work ethic toward this goal. I appreciate the endorsements and support of the awakened community I am experiencing.

This should be, and is, about all of us.
