Chippewa County and the greater Chippewa Valley has recently been abandoned by heath care providers with Prevea and HSHS St. Joseph choosing to close their doors.
first the county clearly needs to understand these two heath care providers decision making process. Understanding why they need to leave is an important first step. Second, based on that understanding, the County will need to see were they can invest to recruit new heath care providers in the region. This likely means we will need to work with the communities within the county (Bloomer, Cornell, New Auburn etc) to understand their needs.
While I appreciate Mayo clinic as a world class heath care system, they are not right for everyone. Secondly I do not want to support them becoming a health care monopoly in the region.
