Council members, led by the mayor, are responsible for identifying the needs of the city, developing programs to meet those needs and evaluating the effectiveness of city services. Services include police and emergency services and maintaining infrastructure to the residents. As members of the City Council, they budget the expenditure of the city’s funds.
