I am the Democratic candidate for the District 30 seat in the Indiana House of Representatives. The district includes most of Kokomo and east past Greentown and Swayze. The reason I am running is to offer my experience and skills to improve among other state priorities, public education, woman’s rights, life expectancy and wages. I am a professional metallurgical engineer retiree after about 23 years at Haynes International. I was formerly employed in the aerospace and rocket science industries in California, for about 30 years. My life partner Margarete now deceased was also an engineer specializing in plastics.

The need to support public education is not rocket science, but should provide opportunities for youth interested in science, technology, arts or business. The industries of the present and future require a “High School of Science and Technology”, “Kokomo Tech’ if you will, that teaches automotive design, agricultural automation, computer science, aerospace design, and new materials. In addition, we need students to make a non-binding choice entering high school leading to trade skills and apprenticeship careers or a college path. Wherever education in America is prioritized prosperity follows. More of our tax dollars is needed to prepare Indiana youth for the jobs of the future with the money coming from the US infrastructure program.
