What are your top priorities?
My top priority is to provide information and education on the soil health principles to both rural and urban audiences.
What experience or skills would you bring to this role?
The past three years, I have served as an appointed supervisor for the Burleigh County Soil Conservation District. My personal experience includes four years serving as an NDSU Master Gardener and five years of experience as a regenerative/healthy soil gardener.
What is your conservation philosophy?
It’s important that we implement the five soil health principles to build our soil. We don’t have to implement them all at once; we can make some changes, see how they work, and then continue to make adjustments. Every person needs to find what works for them in their unique situation.
What issues do you believe are the most pressing for the Soil Conservation District right now?
We need to continually work to reach rural and urban audiences with the soil health message in order to ultimately preserve and build our natural resources.
