I am an Oak Ridge native and resident with in-depth knowledge of local issues, concerns, history, and unique characteristics of Anderson County. I have over 23 years of combined work experience in pharmacy, quality auditing, customer service, and higher education bringing valuable qualities to public service. I am detail-oriented with strong analytical & listening skills essential for assessing policies, budgets, and programs for efficiency and effectiveness. Identifying and implementing process improvements and problem-solving are crucial to long-term community well-being. I love to engage with and advocate for residents, especially when issues concern them. I am dedicated to upholding ethical standards and accountability.

Transportation, public utilities, broadband, and housing are urgent improvements needed in our county to accommodate population growth and changing needs. Public transportation is limited throughout the county and every day residents express their need for it. Maintenance and expansion of public utility structures (e.g. electricity, gas, etc.) are needed to meet growing community needs. Broadband is essential for residents to have quick access to internet and online services. We need open broadband connectivity throughout the county for residents. New and current residents are getting displaced due to high rent or can't find housing. We need to investigate alternative models (e.g. tiny homes to help the homeless, co-housing, etc.) to provide cost-effective housing options. Investing in and improving our county's infrastructure will ensure our county's present and future success.

I am a proud product of the Oak Ridge Schools system attending from Pre-K through high school. I do not support the school voucher program proposed by Governor Lee. I believe the Educational Freedom Act by using public funds for private school vouchers will divert resources away from public education. Special education support, counseling, and nutritional programs for our children will be negatively impacted. To keep up with inflation, the state would need to increase public school funding. Investing in our public schools is a commitment to the development and well-being of our communities. Our children are future leaders, and public schools provide a solid, educational foundation for them to build upon.

I support intellectual freedom and the diverse exchange of ideas. Libraries aim to provide access to a broad range of information and ideas. I believe banning and/or restricting books infringes upon the fundamental right to freedom of expression. I love reading and books opened my eyes to different cultures, historical events, and different viewpoints on many topics. Parents of minors have the responsibility of selecting reading materials for their children that align with their own beliefs and values. Individuals have the same responsibility as well. Banning or restricting books can erase or distort important narratives, block people's access to information. and could lead to further limitations on constitutional rights.

Offering competitive salaries, benefit packages, professional development, positive work environments, and transparent career pathways will help retain and attract good employees to work in Anderson County. No one wants to struggle paying their bills and keeping food on the table. Provide training and development programs that help employees enhance skills and advance in their careers. Show clear career progression pathways within each department. Create and maintain a positive and inclusive work culture where employees feel respected, valued, and supported. Recognition programs, community service projects, employee surveys, transparent communication, and flexibility in work schedules can create workspaces employees cherish and won't leave.
