More than 36 years of experience as Pierce County State's Attorney.
How would you ensure that all individuals who enter the state’s courts receive equal access to justice?
Full analysis of the facts of each case, consistent enforcement of criminal offenses, and full disclosure to criminal defendants and to victims of criminal offenses.
Is there a role for the State’s Attorney to help reduce recidivism (reoffending) rates in our criminal justice system?
Yes, the State's Attorney needs to be learn the background of criminal defendants and provide information concerning the resources available (e.g., chemical dependency evaluations and treatment, mental health resources, etc.) to succeed in reducing recidivism.
