What are your top priorities?
My top priorities are to continue working closely with the residents of Burleigh County and maintaining the strong relationships I have built throughout my years of service. I want to maintain the close working relationship with the Title Companies and Banks in Burleigh County. I also want to continue fostering a positive working environment within the Recorder’s Office while helping our team adapt to ever-changing laws, technology, and recording needs.
What experience or skills would you bring to this role?
My education and more than 20 years of experience in Recorder’s Offices have prepared me to continue serving Burleigh County. In addition to serving as the current County Recorder, I served as Deputy Recorder from December 2010 through March 2021. Before becoming Deputy Recorder, I served as an Administrative Assistant and gained experience in every position within the office. With my education, experience, I am prepared to continue leading the Burleigh County Recorder’s Office into the future.
How would you ensure that the records maintained by the county are open, accessible, useful, and meaningful to the public?
Records maintained by the County Recorder's Office are accessible to the public 24 hours a day 7 days a week through NDRIN as well as Monday through Friday 8am through 5pm at the office. By law we are not able to search title for properties, but can assist the public in searching their records with a proper legal description.
