1. What do you hope to accomplish if elected?
Fully funded K-12 education, pre-k investment, affordable and equitable access to higher education and technical schools;
Advance land conservation and healthy environmental policies, promote Idaho grown sustainable science based agricultural products and practices;
Expand access to affordable healthcare, including complete women's healthcare, elderly care, mental healthcare, and preventative care;
Drive economic development policies that promote growth, workers' rights, small businesses, and sustainability; and
Advance Social Justice policies and voting rights.
2. What experience has prepared you for this office?
Nearly two decades as an educator in Idaho. I have served as an educator in public high school, public charter high school, public online school, public alternative school, and public university. I am a licensed public school administrator and have worked in primary & secondary. I've been a coach, club adviser, union representative, department chair, curriculum lead.
I have over a decade of board service on nonprofits in conservation, women's leadership, foreign and public policy, and civic engagement.
I have experience directing a nonprofit within a large public university, with a large board of directors and complex budget.
I serve as the treasurer for multiple Idaho legislative campaigns.
I am a City of Boise Ethics Commissioner.
3. What do you see as the most significant challenges Idaho faces that you might be able to address in this position?
Meeting Idaho's labor needs with highly educated Idahoans and affordable communities.
Meeting Idaho's environmental and health challenges with science based comprehensive policies.
Preparing Idaho for the future while carrying forward the values that makes this place our cherished home.
4. Would you support legislation to remove criminal liability for physicians and pregnant women experiencing life threatening pregnancy complications and allow for medical and family decisions regarding continuation of that pregnancy. Please explain your response.
I would support legislation that removes criminal liability for physicians and pregnant women facing life-threatening pregnancy complications. Removing such laws are vital to safeguarding maternal health and respecting individual autonomy for all people in the U.S. Pregnancy complications can endanger both the mother and fetus, necessitating informed medical decisions without fear of legal repercussions. Empowering individuals and families to make these difficult choices with medical experts is a fundamental liberty. Legislators must prioritize access to essential medical care and ensure that legal barriers do not impede critical medical decisions. I support legislation that upholds the health and autonomy of pregnant individuals.
