This race is unopposed.The Common Council, comprised of the Mayor and eight aldermen, is the legislative and policy-making body of the City of Mequon. Council members (Alderperson) are elected for three-year terms and represent their district. Mequon has 8 Aldermanic districts.Each Council member serves on at least one of the Council’s four standing committees. These standing committees make recommendations to the full body regarding municipal projects, facilities, services, finance and personnel and the community’s health, safety and welfare. Additionally, all members of the Council serve as sewer and water commissioners and as members of the City’s budget-writing committee. The Council also has representatives on the City’s planning commission and park and library boards.
