What should our state government do to support access to affordable housing?

Policies to reduce property tax increases. We need tax policy reforms which hold government more accountable regarding spending of taxpayer dollars. Household budgets can't absorb these continual massive tax increases.

How do you view the initiative and referendum process in South Dakota? Are there any changes to this system that you would support?

I believe it is working the way it was intended and provides another level of checks and balances to make sure the will of the people is met.

How will you protect voting rights while maintaining the security and integrity of our elections?

I support counties having the option to hand count ballots if they so choose. Continue to require photo ID. For increased security reasons, limit the acceptable reasons for an absentee ballot.

What should our state government do to support access to affordable, quality childcare?

As a parent I sympathize with others on this issue and there is no easy answer. We need to continue to explore creative solutions.

What do you see as the most important challenges facing our state?

For western South Dakota, we need to secure a safe reliable source of quality water for the future. We need to find government efficiencies to reduce the tax burden on our citizens.
