Why are you the best candidate for this position? (750 characters)
I grew up in Brooklyn Park. I know our neighbors, our streets, and our struggles, because I've lived them. I've watched friends go hungry and neighbors stress over rent, and those memories drive everything I do. I've spent years volunteering in IT and tech support here, work that taught me patience and how to actually solve problems instead of just talking about them. I'm running to bring that same persistence to the council, on affordability, opportunity, and transit. I also want to show younger people that you don't have to wait for someday to make a difference. You can start right now, right here. I'm 21, I'm local, and I'm ready to do the work.
If elected, what will your top three priorities be and why? (500 characters)
Affordability, opportunity, and transit. Too many neighbors worry about groceries, rent, or their next meal, and that strain touches health and safety too. I'll push for new grocery options and stronger food assistance. For opportunity, I want new businesses and skill-building programs so people can find good jobs close to home. And Brooklyn Park needs reliable public transit so everyone, no matter their situation, can get where they need to go.
How do you plan to engage with and represent all members of our diverse community?(500 characters)
Brooklyn Park's strength is its diversity, and representing that means showing up everywhere, not just at city hall. I plan to keep volunteering, hold regular office hours, and meet people where they are, at community events, local businesses, and online. I'll listen first and bring neighbors into decisions that affect them. Good representation means every voice gets heard, not just the loudest ones.
What steps will you take to ensure transparency and accountability in city government? (500 characters)
I'll push for clear, regular updates on council decisions and city spending, in plain language people can actually understand. I want to hold open forums so neighbors can ask questions directly and get real answers. I believe in being reachable year-round, not just at election time. Accountability starts with showing up consistently and following through on what I say I'll do.
