Background: What education, experience, and background qualify you for this position?

I have been a certified Texas Peace Officer for twelve and a half years. I have been with the Potter County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) for over ten years and have obtained my Master Peace Officer certification. I am currently working in the Civil Division with the PCSO, performing many of the same court orders and procedures that a Potter County Constable does.

Goals: In your own words, explain the goals, responsibilities, and limitations of this role. (This question is exclusive to the online Vote411 Voter Guide.)

Maintaining the trust and safety of the Potter County residents is first and foremost. Potter County Constables have many of the same responsibilities as a Sheriff’s Deputy. Complying with court orders, assisting with court security, assisting fellow law enforcement agencies, and enforcing traffic laws.

Rehabilitation: How will you work to continue and expand rehabilitation programs in prisons, jails, and our local community?

In my time with the Potter County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), I have been assigned to patrol, School Resource Officer as well as court security. I have specialized training and a desire to help with mentoring and assisting our youth at our local schools and in the community. I plan on continuing to have a close relationship with the PCSO in assisting with future programs.

Prevention: What ideas do you have for crime prevention in the county?

Assisting the Potter County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), as needed. Staying proactive with the trending criminal activity and traffic enforcement. Staying active in community events.

In my time assigned to the Potter County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) Civil Division, I have had the opportunity to meet and build a rapport with several immigrant-owned businesses. I believe it’s important to build a trusting relationship and help them be successful in our community.
