1. Ensuring our expanding career & technical education program meets the needs of all students. We must ensure students have access to an education that prepares them for the skilled trades, the arts, college, or any other area to support their endeavors.
2. Advocating for a better funding system. Our growing district is unfairly penalized by the current finance formula, putting a disproportionate share of funding on homeowners in the form of property taxes when compared to other districts. We need to work closer with our state legislature for a funding formula that relieves homeowners of this burden without taking resources away from our schools.
3. I've heard many complaints about sidewalks and crosswalks throughout the district. This is a safety issue that needs addressed and will take collaboration with the city's of Spring Hill and Olathe.
