Personal Biography Born and raised in Lenexa, I saw the changes to Lenexa over the years and am proud of the city and its amenities. The places, the parks, and the people, are part of me. My father and grandfather were civic minded and served their communities. After my father passing, I began with election work and most recently, supervising judge for an election location. A sense of purpose pushed me to consider how I can give back to the community I love, so I am running for City council.
Education University of Kansas
Community/Public Service Election worker and Supervising Judge

What do you believe are the three critical projects or initiatives that will move your city/district forward?

Lenexa’s biggest challenge is also one of its opportunities: managing growth in a way that preserves or improves our standard of living and supports long-term success. To that end, I believe the three critical initiatives focus on: 1) How to address affordable housing and support aging in place 2) Maintaining green spaces and community amenities 3) Ensuring fiscal responsibility as it related to budgets and property taxes

What skills, expertise, experience, or competencies qualify you for this position?

I hold a Bachelor in Economics from the University of Kansas. I’ve worked in corporate consulting for firms like Grant Thornton and Deloitte for 20 years. I worked with large scale companies implementing HR/payroll software. I have led full back-office system implementations, acquisition and mergers as well as assisting companies in process improvements. Delivering a project on time and on budget was a critical success factor during my years in corporate consulting. I have been a small business owner in Lenexa for 5 years. I believe my unique perspective can assist the Lenexa city council as it moves to the future.

What makes this office an important part of the local government?

City council is a critical part of government to align the city's policies with the community needs and values. Overseeing the city budget and policy making determine the path forward for the future of the city. Both community representation and public engagement are a strong factor in the success of a city. City council members help to drive that success.
