What do you believe are the three critical projects or initiatives that will move your city/district forward?
The critical issues are;
1. Creating a more efficient and transparent government
2. Finding more ways to lower taxes
3. Increasing economic growth and actively pursuing new businesses to come to the city
What skills, expertise, experience, or competencies qualify you for this position?
I have served on numerous boards, committees and commissions at the local, county and state level for over 45 years. I have experience working with local council members, state legislators and federal officials. I have served on the Spring Hill Planning Commission for the past six years and am currently serving as the Chairperson of the Commission.I have been attending city council meetings for the past ten years and have made many presentations about issues facing the community. I have provided information on how to lower property taxes and improvements to their budgeting process. I have managed annual budgets of over $240 million dollars and have worked to effectively address reductions in state funding,while continuing to grow.
What makes this office an important part of the local government?
It is important because the city council and Mayor should provide policy direction, allocate resources, and set planning goals. The mayor/council also should evaluate management of the city and approve the hiring of critical staff.
