Personal Biography
My wife and I chose Roeland Park for our home in 1985. We raised our children here and our grandchildren attended preschool at Roeland Park Community Center. We are now retired and enjoy taking our great grandsons to the Aquatic Center and City Parks.
Community/Public Service
I am U.S. Army veteran, and I have been engaged in public service for our city on a number of levels. I have served as Chairperson of Board of Zoning Appeals, Neighbor to Neighbor Strategic Planning, and Ad-Hoc Branding Committee. I will continue to be an active member of the Neighborhood Watch Captains.
What do you believe are the three critical projects or initiatives that will move your city/district forward?
1. Lower the property tax burden on single-family homeowners
2. Fully involve residents in the city budget process
3. Allow online residential participation in every committee meeting
What skills, expertise, experience, or competencies qualify you for this position?
I am a skilled negotiator, familiar with procedural rules for council meetings, and currently serving in this position.
What makes this office an important part of the local government?
Ward 1 represents approximately 25% of the residents of our city, and they deserve representation on the city council.
