Personal Biography
I was born and raised in Salina, KS, a small safe town with a grocery store down on the corner. After school I sought something bigger, someplace with more opportunity, and moved to Olathe. It was Olathe that I found my new home. I found community and a career here. I've since built a business and started a family here. Olathe is where I call home.
Community/Public Service
I'm known among friends and neighbors as someone they can ask for help. I have a wide array of abilities and a quest to understand how things work. I regularly donate time, items, or money to organizations like Project 1020 or food banks. I help my neighbors shovel their snow. I believe we aught to take care of each other and that it starts with me.
What do you believe are the three critical projects or initiatives that will move your city/district forward?
Increased support of local businesses to help them thrive, including commercial development that brings more tax revenue in.
Maintenance of roads and sidewalks to connect people together better, not just by car.
Thoughtful effort increasing attainable housing options that balance quality and affordability.
What skills, expertise, experience, or competencies qualify you for this position?
As a small business owner and wide array of abilities, I can speak to the many different focuses it takes to run a complex organization. Through my experience in customer service I'm familiar with listening to the needs of many, and factoring in all opinions. As a father and spouse, I'm very invested in seeing Olathe succeed and continue to improve into the future.
What makes this office an important part of the local government?
The office of city council should always be the voice of the people to guide the city, represented by those elected to serve on it.
