Personal Biography Married for 45 years to wife Jane with two adult children, Elizabeth living in Fairway and Eric living in Corvallis, OR. Moved to Fairway 29 yeas ago from Volker neighborhood, KC, MO. because of the neighborly feel and potential for growth. Originally moved from Minneapolis when 8 yrs old to KC in Brookside neighborhood and then later on to southern KC. of the neighborly feel and potential for growth. Moved to KC from Minneapolis when 8 years old and lived near Brookside.

What do you believe are the three critical projects or initiatives that will move your city/district forward?

Help Fairway thrive as a welcoming community where neighbors help neighbors. Have welcome wagon program for new residents of developed senior living in Fairway office park and be a model role for entire county. Locate new police station either alone or with other neighboring communities to address dynamic role for safety and protection of the city and neighboring communities. Showcase Shawnee Indian Mission's history and culture as a gateway to Fairway. Also address improving creek flow at mission street bridge so no further flooding of surrounding area occurs.

What skills, expertise, experience, or competencies qualify you for this position?

Background working with diverse people backgrounds, hearing and addressing their concerns both in mental health and health care for many years. Also have skill in assessing systemic issues and moving forward with most positive and functional way to recognize and assess problems and resolutions. Have some business skills as apartment manager/ landlord and seeing that rehab and maintenance projects can be done effectively and reasonably by competent providers and contractors.

What makes this office an important part of the local government?

The city council is to represent the voices of the community they represent and also have the vision to move the city forward for the benefit of its residents and the greater community.
