What do you believe are the three critical projects or initiatives that will move your city/district forward?
Topeka faces a growing budget deficit that requires responsible, transparent planning. We must expand our tax base and diversify revenue streams to reduce overreliance on property taxes and ensure long-term sustainability. At the same time we must invest in safe affordable housing and inclusive growth by revitalizing neighborhoods, supporting small businesses and improving infrastructure to create opportunity and improve quality of life for all residents.
What skills, expertise, experience, or competencies qualify you for this position?
With 23 years of public service for the State of Kansas, I bring deep experience, community insight, and strong financial leadership to the table. I’ve successfully managed a $28 million regional budget of public tax dollars—ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficient use of resources. As a single mother of three, working and attending college full-time, I lived the challenges many families face and remained determined to build a better future. I understand the urgency of Topeka’s budget shortfall and the need to expand our tax base and diversify revenue. I’m committed to inclusive growth, sustainable and accountable spending, and policies that reflect the needs of all residents.
