Community/Public Service Previously served on the Board from 2013-2022. During that time served as President and Vice President, served on the Personnel Committee and Construction Bond Executive Committee; served as Western Region Director of NSBA's National Council of Black School Board Members; member of the Executive Steering Committe of NFUSSD; currenly serve on the Boards of Topeka Rescue Mission, Topeka Boys & Girls Clubs; Top City Community Foundation, and Living the Dream, Inc.; member of Heartland Sertoma and Youth Pastor of The New Beginning Baptist Church

Student Achievement; Mental Health Supports for Students and Staff; Special Education

What skills, expertise, experience, or competencies qualify you for this position?

Previous service on the Board; commitment to the District's Mission which is to engage, prepare, and inspire every student that passes through its doors to a lifetime of excellence; have worked since 2013 in a SPED classroom; mentor and tutor students to help them on their journey to academic success; 28 plus years of Construction administration experience. I believe in leading by serving.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

Every Board member should be accountable, available, and accessible to those they are elected to serve. I feel that once one takes the oath of office, they enter a commitment to students first and foremost, student's families, district patrons, district employees, district leadership, Superintendent, and fellow Board members.
