Biographical Information

Ballot City Park City
Personal Biography I was born and raised in Wichita, KS. I lived in Valley Center for 21 years. I raised my two daughters there and sent them through the Valley Center schools. In 2020 my wife and I built a house in Park City. We live here with her two kids and our dogs. I love to fish, ride my bicycle and photography.
Education High School: Bishop Carroll Catholic High School. I spent three years attending Wichita State.
Community/Public Service In Valley Center I spent 3 years on the high school’s site council during the time period the new school was designed and built. For 13 years I was very active with the VCHS band and their booster club. I was president of the boosters for 2 years. Currently I am on the board of the Kansas Cooling Contractors Association.

What do you believe are the three critical projects or initiatives that will move your city/district forward?

1) The continued growth and care of public amenities that attract new families to our community as well as keeping the existing families here. This would include but in no way be limited to upgrading the parks, adding walking and bike paths, the new pool and senior center. 2) Attracting new businesses to the city while being careful that they are a good fit and benefit the people here. 3) Helping the city grow with new housing developments and improving infrastructure in existing neighborhoods. I believe all this and more can be done while keeping the city budget and taxes under control.

What skills, expertise, experience, or competencies qualify you for this position?

Park City is my home. I like the direction the city is headed under the current leadership. I feel I can both blend in them as well as bring my own perspective and ideas. I am always open to new ideas and opinions from others. I will keep an open mind on all issues. My time on the band booster board, the HS site council and currently the KCCA board has taught me how to work with others and listen to their points of view before making a decision. I promise to always listen to the citizens of Park City and keep an open mind while listening to their concerns and opinions.

What makes this office an important part of the local government?

The city council and mayor make all the decisions that run Park City. I believe that council members should always know how their constituents feel about any issue in the city and should take that into strong consideration when voting on issues before them. Being transparent in the process is very important and the best way to keep the citizen’s trust.
