Throughout my 8 years in the Kansas Legislature, I've worked very hard to build relationships so that I can be an effective advocate for the district despite being in the superminority.

1) Water. With the depleting Ogallala Aquifur, we must work with stakeholders to ensure that Western Kansas has a consistent supply of water forever. I've voted for every measure across the House floor that increases funding or addresses water policy on this issue.

2) Public Education. In addition to fully funding education in accordance to the Gannon decision, we also need to fully fund special education in order to give our local school boards the tools they need to address other pressing issues.

3) Health Care. We must pass Medicaid Expansion in order to get more people covered and to help our rural hospitals stay afloat.

In addition to the website tracking changes to a bill number, we also need the ability to track where bill language travels to. It is difficult for us in the legislature to track this sometimes; it is nearly impossible for the average citizen at home.

While I'm always open to changes that improve the system, that has generally not been the case in Kansas in the last 8 years. We've only made it harder for citizens to vote, and I oppose all of those changes.
