am the best candidate because I bring experience in public service, skilled trades, finance, cooperative agriculture, and small business ownership. I served on the Windom City Council and as a volunteer firefighter, earned my journeyman electrician license, and hold degrees in Accounting and Finance. My work as a financial analyst for a farmer owned cooperative has taught me to evaluate budgets, analyze data, and make fact-based decisions. As a small-business co-owner, I understand rising costs, workforce challenges, and the responsibility of serving a community. I will be accessible, accountable, and focused on putting District 73 ahead of partisan politics.

Kansas’s three most important issues are education, healthcare, and the rising cost of living. I will fight to fully fund public schools, special education, teacher recruitment, and career and technical education. I support expanding Medicaid, protecting rural hospitals, and improving access to mental health services. I will also pursue fair tax reform that reduces property tax pressure on working families, seniors, farmers, and small businesses while closing loopholes that favor large corporations.

I would support a more user-friendly legislative website with plain-language bill summaries, email or text alerts, clear timelines, recorded hearings, and side-by-side comparisons showing every amendment and how each legislator voted.

The “Gut and Go” process should not be used to bypass public review. When a bill’s original contents are replaced, the new language should be clearly labeled, remain related to the bill’s subject, and be publicly available for at least 48 hours before a vote. Major changes should receive a new hearing, unless a genuine emergency is approved by a supermajority. Kansans deserve enough time to understand legislation and contact their representatives before it becomes law.

Kansas’s election laws and voting systems are generally sound, and I would not support changing them without clear evidence that a change is necessary. I would focus on enforcing existing laws fairly, protecting secure and accessible elections, and making sure every eligible voter can participate.

I would also oppose partisan gerrymandering so voters choose their representatives, not the other way around. In addition, I would support reasonable term limits for the Kansas Senate to encourage new leadership, prevent power from becoming concentrated, and give more Kansans an opportunity to serve.
