What makes you the best candidate for this position? What skills, expertise, or competencies qualify you?

A career in business both at the corporate level and as a small business owner.

What are Kansas's three most important issues, and how do you intend to address them?

Property taxes should have some of the burden shifted from residential owners to major business. This can be done by charging no taxes on the first $100,000 of the appraisal value of single-family, owner-occupied homes and raising the assessment on commercial and industrial by 12%. Healthcare needs to be more affordable and rural hospitals made solvent by approving Medicaid expansion. Schools need to be fully funded, in part by legalizing marijuana and earmarking the taxes for schools.

How would you make it easier for Kansas citizens to follow bills as they flow through the legislature? What, if any, changes would you propose in the “Gut and Go” process?

I will design and maintain a website for constituent interaction. I will post at least weekly a summation of the actions in the Kansas House. The website will include a messaging link whereby you and others may send me input or questions. I will endeavor to answer any and all as time allows. I am asking for your support to be your representative. I cannot represent responsibly without knowing the thoughts and concerns of you and yours.

Would you support changes to Kansas election laws and voting systems? Why?

The data indicates that Kansas elections are safe and fair. Any changes would need to be thoroughly vetted and put to a vote by the people.
