What makes you the best candidate for this position? What skills, expertise, or competencies qualify you?

First and foremost- I am doing this to work on behalf of the people. This is something that I think our current representatives are not doing a great job at. I have regular experience in the capitol and am familiar with policy. I have seen the inner workings of our statehouse and am determined to try and make change for the better. I want Kansans to be better represented by our legislators and our needs prioritized- which I commit to doing if I am elected.

What are Kansas's three most important issues, and how do you intend to address them?

Legislative transparency- our current GOP is basically pulling Kansan's freedoms away one by one and the problem is that people are not noticing. There is a huge disconnect between the policymakers and citizens and I am going to change that. I will shed light on the injustice that our legislators have brought upon Kansans and work for change.

Kansas has not increased its ACA benchmark since the ACA and has to do better in providing healthcare for our citizens. We need to expand and provide more comprehensive, quality healthcare to all Kansans especially in our rural communities.

Finally, we must fully fund our public schools. The children are our future and we are not investing in them like we should.

How would you make it easier for Kansas citizens to follow bills as they flow through the legislature? What, if any, changes would you propose in the “Gut and Go” process?

Oh I would want to get rid of the gut and go and recommend a constitutional amendment to modify this to require 48 hours to pass between a bill to be introduced and it being voted on by legislators. We need greater checks and balances for our leaders. I would argue that the gut and go is unconstitutional.

Would you support changes to Kansas election laws and voting systems? Why?

Yes- I would fight against what is currently happening and make voting accessible for Kansans. I do not like how our election and voting practices are withering away for Kansans.
