Life long educator. Married to Connie and we have 2 children.
Education
Great Bend High graduate. MS and BS from Fort Hays State University, also have Graduate hours from KSU and WSU
Community/Public Service
Barton County Community College Trustee, Board of Barton County Historical Society, Donate time as needed for other organizations.
What would be your top three priorities if elected?
My personal priorities:
1. BCC will continue to deliver a high-quality and affordable education to all students.
2. BCC will retain quality staff who will deliver a quality education to all students.
3. BCC Trustees will continue to be mindful of the cost to Barton County taxpayers.
What skills, expertise, or competencies qualify you for this position?
1. I am nearing the end of my fourth year as a BCC Trustee and have gained a deeper understanding of the college.
2. I have spent all of my professional career in education. I have been a teacher, a building-level administrator, and a district-level administrator. My duties included: classroom instruction, coaching, vocational coordinator, driver's education coordinator, business manager, personnel director, curriculum development, and director of federal programs.
How would you suggest the college address diversity issues for the most favorable outcomes?
BCC has diversity policies in place, and as a Trustee, I will continue to evaluate BCC policies and make changes that may be needed to best serve students, staff, and constituents.
