What is your position on the federal role in reproductive healthcare?
I believe the federal government has a crucial role in ensuring access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare for all, protecting the right to choose, and upholding privacy in healthcare decisions. It should support policies that provide equitable access to reproductive health services, including contraception, family planning, and safe, legal abortion, regardless of income or location.
How should the federal government respond to environmental and climate issues?
The federal government should lead on climate action through investment in renewable energy, strict emissions regulations, and support for green technology innovation. It should also implement adaptation and resilience strategies for vulnerable communities, while actively participating in international agreements to address global climate challenges collectively.
What ideas do you have to address crime and safety in our country?
To address crime and safety, I advocate for a multifaceted approach: enhancing community policing to build trust between law enforcement and communities; investing in mental health services and substance abuse treatment to address root causes of crime; supporting education and job training programs to provide alternatives to criminal activity; implementing sensible gun control measures to keep weapons out of dangerous hands; and leveraging technology for smarter crime prevention and response. This comprehensive strategy aims to not only reduce crime rates but also strengthen the fabric of our communities for a safer, more secure nation.
What are the most urgently needed reforms to our current immigration system?
Our immigration system urgently needs comprehensive reform that addresses the following: First, we must ensure a humane and efficient process for asylum seekers and refugees, upholding international obligations and compassion. Second, there's a critical need for a clear, fair pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, particularly those brought here as children and contributing positively to society. Third, modernizing the visa system to meet economic demands and family reunification needs is essential. Finally, enhancing border security should be balanced with respect for human rights. These steps will create a fair, humane, and functional immigration system.

Please explain your response to the above security question.
In the U.S., our democratic institutions are resilient but currently face significant challenges. Rising polarization, misinformation, and attempts to undermine the electoral process have tested their strength. However, the robustness of checks and balances, a free press, and an active civil society continue to safeguard our democracy. It's crucial, though, that we remain vigilant, promote civic education, and ensure transparent, fair electoral processes to maintain and strengthen the security of our democratic institutions. The engagement and participation of every citizen are vital to preserving the integrity of our democracy for future generations.
