Biographical Information

1. Why are you running for office and what qualities, training, experience and skills do you bring to this position?

I am running for Miami Beach City Commissioner to continue my dedication to public service and to continue putting my more than three decades of forensic auditing experience to work on behalf of the residents of Miami Beach. Former State Representative serving in Tallahassee from 2012 - 2018 (District 113).

2. What are the 3 most important issues facing your municipality? For each concern, how do you propose to mitigate/improve/resolve the issue?

1. Keeping Miami Beach Safe: Our number one job as a City is to ensure we keep our residents and visitors safe and protected. In addition to effectively coordinating resources, I will work with my colleagues to ensure our police department has proper plans for high impact weekends and during peak tourism season.

2. Smart Investments in Climate Change & Sea Level Rise: I believe that Miami Beach has rightfully been a national, and international leader on climate change and sea level rise policy. This has ensured that our residents and businesses are being protected from flooding and the impacts sea level rise brings to a community. As city commissioner, I intend to work with homeowners and businesses to ensure that smart planning continues.

3.Accountability & Transparency in City Hall: As a former forensic auditor, I know that accountability and trust in government is sacred. This is why as your city commissioner, I will make sure we properly implement and execute the OIG.
