Why are you running for this office? Describe the experience and skills that make you the most qualified candidate.
I’m running for Congress because Wyoming deserves a representative who understands the people and communities he serves, not just Washington politics. As an Army National Guard combat medic with 21 years of service, including Iraq, I know the responsibility that comes with protecting others and making difficult decisions. As a sheriff’s deputy for 13 years, I saw firsthand how government policies affect people’s lives and why constitutional rights matter. As a two-term Casper City Councilman and former vice-mayor, I listened to constituents and saw how government decisions affect families, businesses, and communities. As an attorney, I advocate for people when their rights and futures are on the line.
What federal legislation would you support to lower the cost of living for Wyoming citizens?
I would support legislation that puts more money back in the pockets of Wyoming families by reducing federal spending, unnecessary taxes, and regulations that drive up the cost of living. Wyoming produces the energy that powers America, yet our families still face high costs for fuel, electricity, food, and housing. I would expand responsible energy development and remove unnecessary barriers that increase costs. I would oppose unnecessary wars and nation-building that cost taxpayers trillions. I would also reform Social Security by protecting benefits already earned while giving younger workers the choice to direct a portion of their payroll taxes into individually owned, state-sponsored retirement accounts they can invest and pass on.
How would you improve the federal immigration system?
I would secure the border, enforce the laws already on the books, and fix the broken legal immigration system. Wyoming needs workers in agriculture, ranching, energy, construction, and other industries, but our immigration system should not force employers or families to navigate years of unnecessary bureaucracy. I would support faster legal pathways for workers our economy needs, while ensuring employers follow the law and American workers are protected. I would also prioritize stopping fentanyl, human trafficking, and criminals from entering illegally and ensure legitimate asylum claims are processed quickly. Wyoming welcomes people who come here legally, work hard, respect our laws, and contribute to our communities.
What measures would you support to improve access to and affordability of health care services in Wyoming?
I would make keeping Wyoming’s rural hospitals open and financially sustainable a top priority. Rural communities should not lose access to emergency and essential care because a hospital cannot survive financially. I would support reforms that reduce unnecessary regulations, strengthen reimbursement for rural hospitals, expand telehealth, and help attract and retain health care professionals. To lower insurance costs, I would increase competition by allowing families to shop for more affordable plans, expand access to health savings accounts, and increase price transparency. Wyoming families deserve affordable coverage and quality care close to home, not a three-hour drive to the nearest hospital.
Do you support or oppose the sale or exchange of public lands? Please explain.
I oppose the sale of Wyoming’s public lands to private interests. These lands belong to the American people and are an important part of Wyoming’s economy, outdoor heritage, hunting, fishing, ranching, and recreation. I do support carefully considered land exchanges when they improve public access, consolidate isolated parcels, or provide a clear benefit to Wyoming communities and taxpayers. Any exchange should be transparent and protect public access. The federal government should not use public-land sales as a way to raise money or balance its budget. Wyoming’s public lands should remain available for future generations.
