My priorities remain efficient and effective public safety, continued redevelopment, and ensuring the preservation of our parks, recreation and infrastructure.
Rising taxes and costs of living. I am hopeful that redevelopment will attract businesses and increase our commercial tax base. I am also hopeful that continued shared services will reduce Borough costs while providing reliable services. These endeavors should help ease the tax burden on our residents.
Shared services are necessary for small towns. I have witnessed first-hand the benefit of shared services in our EMS and Fire Departments. We have been able to improve services yet save money because the services and associated costs are shared. For example, we have increased our career staff hours and hired additional career staff within our FD.
I will continue to promote redevelopment to bring new businesses into town as well as more housing by way of apartments, which will attract new residents but also keep residents who are downsizing in town. Increased foot traffic will benefit our businesses and restaurants.
I currently am a Partner with the Law Firm of Madden & Madden in Haddonfield where I focus on litigation and employment law. I also have become a dedicated advocate to a cause that is very close to my family’s hearts. Our son, Shane, lives with a rare, genetic neuromuscular disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). I advocated for the passage of a bill that ultimately became law in January 2020 and added SMA to New Jersey’s newborn screening panel so that babies diagnosed and treated shortly after birth can live a better quality life. My advocacy and legislative skills have been strongly developed thanks to my experiences with Shane.
