Dedicated Educators and Support Staff: STCS is anchored by the adults who spend endless hours preparing lessons, providing visionary leadership, and maintaining clean, healthy learning environments.
Adaptability and Forward-Looking Innovation: Our district recognizes the fast pace of globalization and the growing need to integrate robust STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education across all grade levels. STCS demonstrates this by overcoming the hurdle of physical space and incorporating modular spaces for learning opportunities such as these.
Community-Centered Connection: STCS excels at uniting families, businesses, and neighborhood partners around a shared vision for youth development.

As a certified Michigan school administrator and educator, my career has been defined by a relentless commitment to driving continuous school improvement, building authentic community partnerships, and ensuring that every student receives a top-tier education. I am eager to use my professional expertise and community-first mindset to continue making a meaningful impact right here in Saginaw Township.
Ageing Infrastructure:
I hear our community loud and clear on the bond issue. Our infrastructure challenges haven't gone away, I would propose prioritizing immediate health, safety, and deferred maintenance projects over several fiscal cycles.
Parent Involvement:
I propose removing participation barriers by offering flexible meeting formats, using digital communication platforms, actively engaging families through collaborative school-community events and advisory groups. By turning parents into true partners whether through career connections, volunteering, or school decision-making STCS can be transformed into a unified force that ensures every child is ready to succeed.
I am running for the Saginaw Township Community Schools Board of Education to bring my perspective as an educator, school administrator, and long-time district parent to advocate for a continuance of strong academic standards, and increased parent support. My goal is to build a unified community where we strengthen parent-school partnerships, support our dedicated educators, and ensure every student in Saginaw Township Community Schools thrives in a safe, high-quality learning environment.

Our district can be incredibly proud of our students and staff. Everyone I talk to talks about the amazing people who have the drive and dedication to improve our condition each and every day. We are uniquely positioned with the talent to thrive as a school district and become a statewide leader in almost every metric. Additionally, our district is resource-rich; as a result, we have a unique position to elevate our expectations.
I am the candidate with the skill set and experience as a board member to complement and support our staff, increase excellence across all facets, help our district improve student success, and increase pathways for both college- and non-college-bound students.
I am a proud member of the Saginaw County Democratic Party, serving as rules chair, leading civic education events, supporting the relaunch of a monthly newsletter, and helping to expand civic and community engagement among members and volunteers.
In 2014, I was elected at 18 to the St. Charles School Board and served as Board President for the last 18 months of my term. I oversaw a turn to fiscal responsibility, the oversight of a bond millage project, the belief that the board had the backs of students and staff, and a sense of calm stability that our district needs today.
I am dedicated to the proper role of a board member. Policy and high-level oversight are what the board is tasked with, not micromanaging.
Lastly, I know what it is like to be a student today because I have been one in this century. Through the threat of gun violence, hyper-testing, the rise of hateful rhetoric, the Great Recession, and COVID, we grew up with fewer opportunities than generations prior.
The most important challenge that this district faces is the infrastructure quagmire that has plagued the district and community relations for the last three years. I am the candidate with the experience to solve this problem, who has served on a school board during the bulk of a bond millage project and who has seen up close what it takes to successfully both propose and oversee the administration of millage funds.
A school board has the most critical role in the millage process, as the small group of individuals who ultimately decide what the millage proposal looks like. We have a lot of work to do before putting another measure on the ballot. We absolutely cannot afford more of the same on this matter, and I will be the change.
I am running for office because our world right now is too messed up to sit on the sidelines. I am tired of our leaders telling us more about what we cannot have, rather than finding solutions and working to build the future we can believe in.
My campaign is all about the future and what we can do as a district to win it. The world is not going to wait for us to sit around and continue down the same path while opportunities pass us by. We need leaders who are ready to challenge us to meet new, higher expectations because it simply should not be this hard for the young people in your life to get ahead.
I am off the sidelines now, and I ask you, the voter and my neighbor, to join me in building and winning the future that we deserve.

STCS has many strengths, but our teachers are at the top of my list. They are in our classrooms everyday building relationships with students and doing the work that drives student success. Academically, proficiency rates increased in 9 of 12 grade-level ELA and math measures from 2024-25 to 2025-26, which is encouraging progress. Our graduation rate is another strength and reflects the work of students, teachers, staff and families. We should celebrate what is working while continuing to give our teachers the support and resources they need to build on that success.
My community involvement has generally been through volunteering and charitable support rather than formal membership in civic organizations. I have volunteered at my children’s schools, donated professional Christmas lighting services to local churches, supported church Christmas programs providing gifts to children and families, and contributed to church mission efforts in Haiti, including projects to build homes. I believe community involvement can take many forms, and I have tried to contribute my time, skills and resources where I can.
I bring the perspective of a parent, business owner and someone who has spent considerable time studying school finances, budgets and public records. I operated a business with nine employees, which required managing budgets, personnel, customers and competing priorities. I also have a college education and experience analyzing data and financial information. Most importantly, I am willing to ask questions, listen to teachers, parents and students, and examine the information before making a decision. A board member does not need to have every answer but should be willing to do the work necessary to make informed decisions.
STCS faces several important challenges, including aging facilities, financial pressures, supporting and retaining great teachers, and rebuilding trust with the community. I would address these by taking a hard look at spending priorities and making sure classroom instruction, teachers and essential maintenance come first. Our facility needs cannot simply be ignored because a bond failed; we need a realistic long-term plan that distinguishes urgent needs from wants and considers every available funding option. I also believe greater transparency, accessible financial information and meaningful public input are essential. I will ask questions, listen to all sides and let the facts guide my decisions.
I am running because I am a parent first. My children have attended STCS, and I care deeply about the future of this district and the people who make it work every day. I believe our students and teachers should be at the center of every decision, and taxpayers deserve accountability and transparency about how their money is being spent. I am not running because I think I have every answer or because I will always agree with everyone. I am running because I am willing to listen, ask difficult questions, examine the facts and make decisions based on what I believe is best for our students, teachers and community.
