What makes our district special is that we truly care about every student and their future. We are committed to helping students discover their passions and preparing them for meaningful careers through strong academic programs and hands-on skilled trades opportunities. These programs allow students to explore career paths, develop real-world skills, and gain experiences that can lead directly to rewarding professions after graduation.
Just as important is the sense of community that defines our district. Our staff, administrators, and Board of Education members are invested in student success and work together to ensure every child feels supported, valued, and encouraged. Here, students are more than just a number, they are family.
I have been involved with the Birch Run PTO for 7 years, most recently serving as the Secretary for the organization.
I also currently serve as the Treasurer for the Birch Run Education Foundation.
My professional background in Human Resources has given me extensive experience in policy development, problem-solving, collaboration, budgeting, and making fair, informed decisions that balance the needs of individuals and organizations. I have also been actively involved in the Birch Run PTO and Education Foundation, working to support students, staff, and our schools. As a former Birch Run substitute teacher, I have firsthand knowledge of our schools and understand the challenges and opportunities facing students, educators, and families. This combination of professional expertise and community involvement enables me to serve our district effectively.
I think most things can be solved by coming to the table with an open mind, listening to the problem and potential solutions, and then being open to creative solutions. Decisions from the board may not always have everyone's support, but I promise to always put our students success, and the good of the community at the heart of my decisions.
I am running for School Board, as I feel this community has given so much to me and my success over the years, that I cannot help but feel the need to give back to it. The teachers and staff that I had while in school left a huge impression on me, and I want to make sure to help be able to support those same things for the current and future generations.
