Campaign Message Over the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of serving Flint scholars, families, educators, and our community during an important time for Flint Community Schools. We have made meaningful progress and significant investments in our district’s future, but our work is not finished. I remain committed to improving student outcomes, strengthening our financial future, creating safe and modern learning environments, supporting our educators and staff, and continuing to rebuild confidence in our district. I believe in listening, asking the hard questions, and making decisions that keep our scholars first. I’m ready to continue serving our community and Lighting the Way Forward for Flint scholars and the future of Flint Community Schools.

I currently serve as a Trustee on the Flint Board of Education, where I have gained firsthand experience in governance, policy development, fiscal oversight, superintendent accountability, facilities planning, and community engagement. Professionally, I serve as a Field Operations Consultant for McDonald’s Corporation, where my work requires me to analyze operations, identify opportunities for improvement, and help franchisees connect strong operations with strong financial performance. I was appointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer to serve on the Michigan State Teacher Tenure Commission. Locally, I serve on the Dort Financial Credit Union Governance Committee.
I first ran because I believed Flint students deserved Board members willing to listen, ask hard questions, and keep their future at the center of decisions. Serving on the Board has strengthened that commitment. I have seen what is possible when we work together, and I also know our work is not finished.

I am seeking another term to continue bringing experience, accountability, and a forward-looking perspective to the Board as we build on our progress and create greater opportunities for Flint scholars.
My priorities are improving student achievement, continuing to invest in safe and modern schools, strengthening accountability and stewardship, and bringing our Flint kids home by rebuilding confidence in Flint Community Schools.

As a Board member, I will partner with district leadership to set clear expectations, monitor academic and financial outcomes, ask hard questions, and ensure our resources remain focused on students.I will also continue listening to our students, families, educators, and community as we make decisions about our district’s future.
School districts will continue facing challenges involving student achievement, enrollment, financial sustainability, aging facilities, and educator recruitment and retention.

For Flint, we must ensure our investments in facilities are matched by investments in what happens inside our classrooms. New buildings alone will not improve outcomes. We must pair them with strong instruction, innovative programming, supported educators, and meaningful opportunities that prepare Flint scholars for their futures.
Flint is home, and serving our community is a responsibility I take seriously. I understand that progress requires collaboration, preparation, accountability, and a willingness to work with others, even when we do not always agree.

When I joined the Board nearly four years ago, our district faced significant instability and difficult decisions about its future. Since then, we have worked together to bring greater stability, make long-term investments, and move Flint Community Schools forward.

I’m proud of the progress we have made, but our work is not finished. I remain committed to listening, asking the hard questions, and keeping Flint students at the center of every decision as we continue Lighting the Way Forward.

I bring a unique combination of leadership experience, community engagement, and a deep commitment to Flint. My professional and volunteer experiences have strengthened my skills in collaboration, strategic planning, partnership building, and informed decision-making. As a Limited Licensed Bachelor Social Worker (LLBSW), I understand the social and emotional factors that impact student success and the importance of supporting the whole child. I believe effective board leadership requires accountability, transparency, fiscal responsibility, and meaningful community engagement.
My desire to serve on the Board of Education comes from my commitment to Flint, its students, and its families. I believe every scholar deserves access to a high-quality education that prepares them for success in school, careers, and life. As a proud graduate of Flint Community Schools, I understand the impact that strong schools and supportive educators can have on a student's future. I want to use my experience, perspective, and dedication to support decisions that put the importance of rebuilding trust, improving student outcomes, strengthening family engagement.
As a board member, my top priority would be to strengthen and advance the Flint Community Schools Strategic Plan 2022-2027 by ensuring that district policies, resources, and decisions remain aligned with the goals of student achievement, transformation, and educating the whole child. I would work to build trusting relationships with scholars, families, educators, staff, community organizations, and strategic partners because strong schools are built through strong partnerships. The Board must remain focused on student achievement, fiscal responsibility, and community engagement while ensuring every decision supports the district's mission.
The school board faces several important challenges, including improving student achievement, increasing attendance, recruiting and retaining quality staff, maintaining fiscal responsibility, and ensuring that every scholar receives the academic, social, and emotional support needed to succeed. Looking ahead, the Board must also prepare for challenges related to evolving technology, workforce readiness, educational equity, mental health needs, and enrollment trends. As a board member, I would focus on strengthening partnerships with families and community organizations, advancing the Strategic Plan, and ensuring that every decision remains student-centered.
I am a wife, a mother, a proud graduate of Flint Community Schools, and a lifelong supporter of the Flint community. My experience as a Flint Community Schools student shaped who I am today and instilled in me the value of education, hard work, and service. Those experiences inspired my commitment to ensuring every scholar has access to the opportunities and support they need to succeed. Throughout my professional and community involvement, I have worked alongside individuals, families, and community partners to strengthen relationships, support youth, and expand access to educational and economic opportunities. I am passionate about helping create a community where every student can learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
