As a school board member, I bring over 25 years of knowledge and experience in education at Davison Community Schools. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education, a Master’s degree in Child Development and an Education Specialist degree with an emphasis on curriculum. As an educator, I served as a teacher for at-risk students at Davison Alternative High School, a math and science teacher at Davison Middle School, a building principal for grades 5-6 at Hahn Intermediate and before retiring, I was the Executive Director of Student Services at the district level. My experience encompasses every level, k-12, curriculum, child & adolescent development, & school finance.
I love Davison Community Schools! My inspiration to serve on the school board is the children! An elementary teacher, serving for 25 years has the opportunity to impact the lives of over 625 students throughout their career. A secondary teacher, serving for 25 years has the opportunity to impact the lives of over 3000 students throughout their career. Educators have the opportunity to have a profound impact on individual students, families, and our entire community.
Education is an opportunity and I want all students to have access to the opportunity that Davison Schools provides to the students in our district.

The top priority for any school district should be providing the opportunity for all students to benefit from a high quality, well rounded education that prepares them for the next step in their life with the ultimate goal of becoming productive community members.
As a school board member, with extensive experience in all facets of education, I will continue to work with the Superintendent and school leadership to support well thought out, well planned decisions regarding finances, curriculum, personnel and safety. This will ensure that the staff have the support and resources needed to maintain high academic and behavior standards so our students are prepared for their future.
School Districts all over the nation face many challenges. Fortunately, Davison Community Schools is a strong, financially stable school district and that is the result of strong leadership. While Davison is a great district, challenges still exist. Challenges that face our district and education in general, include student mental health and behavioral needs, attracting and maintaining high quality staff as well as increasing state and federal mandates.
It is important to keep the focus on the main thing - educating our students! As a current member of the Davison Board of Education, that is and will continue to be my priority.
I’m a lifelong resident of Davison, I’m a graduate of Davison Community Schools and after college, I returned to Davison where I served 25 years as a teacher, principal and the Executive Director of Student Services. My husband, Doug and I raised our five children here and I’ve owned and operated my business, Academy de la Danse, in the community for 35 years. As they say, I’m “Davison Made.”
My family and I have had the pleasure and benefit of working with and for a high functioning, productive Board of Education. I have lived the Kids First mission and I will continue to live that mission as a member of the Davison Board of Education.
