Campaign Message
I am a volunteer in the Linden Community and feel strongly about maintaining the small town appeal. I have 40 years of experience in storm water drains, waste issues, drinking water, air quality, wastewater, recycling, and parks & recreation. I work hard for the citizens and community.
I have worked in many occupations and have a large variety of experience. I have worked as an ambulance dispatcher; museum coordinator, naturalist, and social coordinator for a Native American center; metallurgy lab co-op student, disability worker, environmental cleanup specialist (State of Michigan), and a Environmental Education Specialist (State of Michigan). The varied experiences work well with most city services. I understand the first responders work, public events, structural aspects of a city such as drinking water, waste water, storm water drains, how to prevent contamination taking place in the city, parks & recreation events.
I work to improve and maintain roads, infrastructure, great drinking water, maintaining and improving parks - recreation, the mill pond for kayaking, fishing, and wildlife; ddand also helping develop public events. I want to work on plans to help improve the city, keeping the small town feel, while helping to improve housing.
I am very active in the community. First I shop in the stores, eat at the restaurants, attend public events, and make sure to keep communicating with neighbors and people across the city. I am a member of the a couple organizations that are local; the Linden Mills Historical Society, and the Rotary club. I also work with the local food bank to help provide food and necessities for those who need them. I help promote our businesses, and even the Loose Senior Center.
Yes public officials should be required to take an oath of office. The oath helps to keep officials focused on proper conduct, to avoid conflicts of interest. Public officials should be oriented to clean conduct, and working for the greater good with no ulterior motives other than to serve the city and those who live in it. We should always seek to improve the quality life.
I believe in helping others to live a safe, productive, and maintain quality of life. My personal motto is service before self and I will always help others.
