Bethel Registrar of Voters
The Registrars office is an agency of the State of Connecticut. The two elected registrars, one from each party, are responsible for registering and enrolling voters, maintaining the computerized voter lists and updating the lists by annual canvass. They also conduct primaries, elections and referenda for the Town---setting up polling places and ballot drop-boxes, hiring and training election workers and tabulating voting results. In addition to regular office hours, the Registrars reach out to the community by offering registration sessions at schools, community events and nursing homes. Registrars are elected to a two-year term and are salaried. The candidates for this office are listed for informational purposes and have not been asked to respond to specific questions. To view sample ballot go to this website:- https://portal.ct.gov/SOTS/Election-Services/Town-Ballots/Ballots

Candidate Name
Kenneth W Henneberry
I grew up on Long Island and have been a Bethel resident for 29 years. I am now semi-retired after a career in IT. I enjoy bike riding, hiking and skiing. I also have volunteered for the local animal shelter and help out at my church with their food pantry and delivering restored furniture to poor people.
I have had a long career in IT. I have extensive experience with software and long days of installations which translates into long election days. I am good with Excel and other software packages. I had constant deadlines in the positions I have held. I have led teams in my IT career and have also leadership in my leisure activities.
I want to make sure that the people I appoint are capable and make none or very little mistakes. The concern going forward is replacing anyone who moves away or cannot work anymore. I think the early voting needs to be cut down a little. I think a week is enough for Presidential years and midterms. A few days is enough for a primary. We had a primary this year where we averaged 6 voters an hour for early voting. The town had to spend a good amount of money for that little turnout.
