TOWN OF BLACK MOUNTAIN MAYOR

The City operates under a Council-Manager form of government, with the City Manager being appointed by the City Council to carry out policy determined by the Council.The City Council consists of the Mayor and five Council Members. The Mayor is elected at-large in non-partisan elections to a two-year term. The Council members are elected at-large in non-partisan elections to staggered four-year terms in odd-numbered year elections.The Council is the governing board of the City and is responsible for the government and general management including: scheduling regular public meetings, establishing the budget, imposing taxes and borrowing funds, establishing local ordinances, land Annexations, and representing the community to other levels of government.
